Chairman of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun John Obukohwo Nani has hailed the emergence of Chief Solomon Areyenka as the chairman of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded state congress.
Olorogun Nani in his congratulatory message described the Solomon Areyenka’s emergence as historic in an election held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Cenotaph in Asaba where he succeeded Elder Omeni Sobotie.
Arenyeka is the first Deltan who served as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Chairman who led the party to APC in the state as, Olorogun John Obukowho Nani, described the development as both historic and symbolic for Delta politics.
In a felicitation message personally signed by him, Nani said, “This is not just a victory for Chief Solomon Arenyeka; it is a defining moment that reflects courage, conviction, and an unwavering belief in democratic participation. His journey speaks to the power of experience and reinvention in politics.”
He added, “Chief Solomon Arenyeka’s ascendancy demonstrates resilience and a clear vision for inclusive party leadership. His ability to bridge divides and foster unity will undoubtedly strengthen the APC in Delta State.”
Nani further said, “I have known Chief Arenyeka as a leader who listens carefully, builds consensus, and values grassroots engagement. These qualities are essential at this critical time in the party’s growth.”
Calling for unity among party members, the DESOPADEC Chairman stated, “Now is the time for consolidation, not division.
“I urge all stakeholders and party faithful to rally behind him so that this historic emergence can translate into tangible progress for both the party and the people of Delta State.”
He wished the new chairman success in office, stating, “I am confident that under his leadership, the APC in Delta State will witness renewed strength, cohesion, and expansion across all senatorial districts.”
